Safe checks first
Confirm the controller is set to cooling mode, the target temperature is below the current room temperature and that accessible filters are not obviously blocked.
- Check cooling mode is selected
- Lower the set temperature sensibly
- Check accessible filters
- Look for an error code
- Note whether the indoor fan and outdoor unit appear to run
When to request help
If those checks do not resolve the problem, or the unit is leaking, repeatedly stopping or showing an error, request repair help rather than dismantling equipment yourself.
